Hiya! My name’s Alan, I’m from Fife and I currently live in the Scottish Highlands. My work has not been published in Gutter Magazine, New Writing Scotland or the Edinburgh Review. I am not a recipient of a New Writers’ Bursary from the Scottish Book Trust, and my work has certainly never been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. You’ll be glad to hear that my debut short story collection will not be published, by anyone, anytime soon.
Some of my writing has, however, been published in a variety of magazines, anthologies and newspapers. By day I work as an English teacher, and by night I write short stories, plays and educational articles.
I won my first poetry competition at the age of ten for a long-lost verse entitled Ode to a Baked Potato. My prize was a board game. If you’re really interested my full CV spiel is available to read here.
